What is included in a full-service groom?

Your dog will be washed with the best and most exclusive products on the market, including specialty shampoos and treatments formulated for any allergy-prone skin, or any skin-related issue. After washing, anal gland expression is done and a deep conditioning treatment to soothe and prep the skin and hair is used. The next step is getting hand dried only, we do not use cage dryers, and use two different forms of ear protection for your pet. To promote a relaxing spa experience, pets are given breaks in between each step to rest. Once on the grooming table, dogs will get a nail trim and file and cats will receive a toenail trim, all nails are taken down as short as possible. Ears are cleaned and plucked as necessary and/or requested. Pets are thoroughly brushed and combed, de-shed, pads are shaved, and sanitary areas are carefully trimmed for your pet’s comfort. Pets are then given the haircut discussed in the consultation and are sent home with a cute accessory.

What should I expect in my new client consultation?

We will ask for a brief history of your pet’s grooming. Then an assessment of your pet’s coat, skin, and temperament is made. We will ask questions to find out the needs of both you and your pet and decide on what haircut or style would best suit them. If you have a reference photo of a haircut your pet has had in the past or a similar-looking pet, please bring it to better help us see your vision. We encourage any and all feedback after your pet is groomed, and if you’d like to make any changes, please call us - your satisfaction is very important to us.

Why does my pet’s grooming take so long?

Here at Wolfe, our intention is to create a relaxing spa experience for pets. That means taking extra time to exfoliate the skin, comfort fearful pets, and provide specialty treatments. We give the dogs as many breaks as they need because standing for an extended period of time can be hard on any dog, including old and young. Every pet is checked at the end of the groom with a fine tooth comb by another groomer, to ensure your pet looks its best. If you need your dog done in a short period of time, you can book a speed groom for an additional fee of $20-$40. We do not recommend speed grooms for elderly dogs as there are no breaks included in the faster service.

How do I get a hold of you?

We try to get to all calls within two business days. Calls are returned only if accompanied by a voicemail or a text message—we do not return missed calls without voicemails. Our groomers are busy caring for your pets and are not able to answer the phone, but can be reached via text, periodically throughout the day.

Do you brush teeth?

Yes, we can brush your pet’s teeth for an additional $8 to your grooming appointment.
